The Scent of Autumn

Fall is upon us, and we are settled back in Italy.
Long story short, flight went...Luca slept 90% of flight. Mila 10. and insisted on kicking the grumpy man in front of us. so basically I stood the whole flight while Mila sat like a queen and tried picking at Lucas ears and nose. I survived. barely.
Luca starter 1st grade with a bang, and has surprisingly been very happy. he still prefers the weekend,  but i think that because he gets to watch a movie on friday night and saturday morning cartoons in bed with us.
The house in Magliano is a mess, gutted and raw, but it will be glorious. Marco is there every spare moment he has and has been working his tail off along with our friend who is also our contractor. A lot of work, but also satisfying to see each day as the puzzle pieces come together. I have been keeping sane with the kids, for the next couple of months it will be tough since Marco is sacrificing basically his life to work and finish our house, and I am a Mamma, surviving and trying to keep our lives together. its tough as hell doing life on our own, thank God my mother in law helps a couple times a week, but I miss having the whole family together. Once the house is done I think we can all breathe again.
I will start posting pictures of, before, during and after pictures. It's an adventure and I am fortunate to call it ours.

Six, Summer and Surprises

Accepting the fact that I have a six year old, is as hard as accepting that he will start first grade in exactly 1 month.
Summer is flying, and we are cherishing every moment. With that said, we also cannot wait to start a new chapter in our lives, and have Marco back with us.
We bought a house in June, and closing is in September. We will then officially have the keys to start renovation.
It will be a crazy few months as we are basically gutting the whole house, but maaaan are we excited. Marcos father will be moving into our current apartment, so leaving it won't be as hard.
I can't wait to share our journey, and post updates on our house project. It's a fabulous fixer upper, and absolutely perfect for us.
its 100% his daughter

Luca had a 6 day fever. on the 6th day we flew to America. he was ok. it was a very very difficult 6  days, but we made it safely across the atlantic, just in time for me to get strep throat.

at 4am the day after we arrived. recovering boy, confused as hell girl, and a mamma who can't think straight from exhaustion overload, only to get sick 2 days later...
